Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) is seeking motivated, detail-oriented legal fellows for Summer 2021 who are interested in researching and assisting with litigation on constitutionally protected rights, private property rights, government overreach, public lands, and natural resources. The ideal candidate not only possesses strong legal writing and research skills, but demonstrates dedication to the principles underlying MSLF’s mission, while seeking to understand and participate in the strategic decision-making necessary to a public interest legal foundation.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, researching complex and novel legal issues, drafting motions, memoranda, and legal briefs, and assisting attorneys with litigation preparation. Synopses of MSLF’s active and prior cases are available at www.mslegal.org.
MSLF has one Summer Fellowship position compensated at a rate of $1,000 per week and one that is unpaid, for credit. Fellows work in-person at MSLF’s offices in Colorado for 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks. The unpaid position is more flexible for a part-time commitment. MSLF may be willing, based on need, to offer a hybrid in-person and remote schedule.
