Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking diverse first-year law students to join the 2022 summer associate program through the Dorsey Diversity Fellowship program (Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Seattle), the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) 1L Clerkship program (Minneapolis), Diversity Lab’s Move the Needle 1L Pipeline Program (Minneapolis), the Colorado Pledge to Diversity program (Denver), and the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association Summer Program (Costa Mesa). First-year law students hired through these programs will be named as LCLD 1L Scholars.
During the summer program, you will:
– Work on challenging client matters, obtaining substantive work opportunities and working closely with our attorneys;
– Hone your legal writing skills;
– Choose from a variety of pro bono matters on which to work;
– Have the opportunity to attend client meetings, depositions, closings, and court appearances;
– Receive formal feedback and mentoring;
– Participate in numerous seminars and training events hosted by Dorsey U, our in-house professional development group; and
– Establish meaningful relationships with your summer associate colleagues and Dorsey attorneys through professional opportunities, networking, and a variety of social events.
Our summer associates will receive work from one or more of the following practice areas during the 10 week program: Benefits & Compensation, Corporate, Finance & Restructuring, Healthcare Transactions & Regulations, Labor & Employment, Patent, Public Finance, Real Estate, Regulatory Affairs, Tax, Trusts & Estates, Trademark, and Trial.
