Colorado Pledge to Diversity 1L Summer Clerkship Program Information Session

Please join the CDO and a Pledge to Diversity board member on Monday, November 15th , 12:00pm – 1:00pm via Zoom to learn about the Colorado Pledge to Diversity 1L Summer Clerkship Program*. This program places first year law students from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in the practice of law in summer legal jobs. The application process for the program takes place next semester (applications are due in early January, thus students typically work on applications over winter break). If you are interested in this program, it is important that you attend this information session. If you cannot make the session but are interested in the Pledge program, please email Samantha Zandman at szandman@law.du.edu . Once you have RSVPed, a Zoom link will emailed to you shortly before the event.

*The Colorado Pledge to Diversity Summer Clerkship Program (the “Program”) is sponsored by the Colorado Pledge to Diversity (the “Pledge”), a non-profit organization consisting of law firms and other participating constituents in the Colorado legal community. The Program’s primary purpose is educational. In furtherance of this purpose and given the historic under-representation of diverse lawyers in the legal profession, the Program seeks to provide a means for exposing diverse law students to opportunities in the legal profession and vice versa. The participating employers (mostly private sector law firms and companies with in-house legal departments) recognize the importance and value of having  students with various experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives work at their firm or company. The Program is made available to University of Denver, University of Colorado, & University of Wyoming first year (or 2L part-time) law students from diverse backgrounds that have been traditionally under-represented in the practice of law. These include but are not limited to law students who are ethnic or racial minorities, students with disabilities, and/or gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, or transgender students.

Zoom now has a capability that allows for live transcription. To use this feature, click on “Live Transcript” and then “Show Subtitle”.
