John McKee

John McKee earned his B.A. in Government and English at the University of Notre Dame, his M.E.M. in Natural Resource Economics and Policy at Duke University, and his J.D. degree and Certificate in Environmental & Natural Resources Law here at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. During law school, John worked as the Office and Career Coordinator for the Office of Career Development & Opportunities, participated as a student attorney in the Environmental Law Clinic, and served as an officer for the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and Land Use Law Society student organizations.

Prior to law school, John enjoyed careers in several professions including as a show performer at Disney World, park ranger at Carlsbad Caverns, Mount Rushmore, and Brooklyn, New York, Owner/operator entrepreneur of a vegan food business, and high school English teacher. Following law school, John served as Manager of Recruitment and Professional Development at Holland & Hart LLP in Denver. John teaches career skills workshops for Jefferson County, Colorado and provides pro bono legal counseling for temporary residents of the Action Center Homeless Shelter in Lakewood.

John’s hometown is Green Bay, Wisconsin and he and his wife Kelly are shareholder-owners and life-long followers of the Green Bay Packers. John committed to veganism in the year 2000 and enjoys vegan cooking and baking, and hiking for miles with his dogs in the Colorado mountains. John can be reached at 303.871.6063.
