Scheduling an Appointment via Symplicity

The most straightforward way to set up an appointment with a counselor is via Symplicity where their availability is displayed.

To start making an appointment, log into your Symplicity account and click Counseling near your initials in the top-right corner.

Before proceeding, Symplicity may ask you to update information in your academic profile. Once that is updated, particularly the required fields, click Save and then click Counseling again.

Then click Request New Appointment

In the scheduling view that opens, select the following options:

  • Appointment Type (1Ls looking to schedule their first appointment should select ‘Initial 1L Meeting’)
  • Date Range
  • Time Range
  • Counselors (if you would like to meet with specific ones; if no preference, leave blank)
  • Days of the Week

Then scroll down and click Check Availability.

You will be presented with available times and counselors

Click on the option that works best for you.

In the Confirm Appointment window that opens:

  • Select whether you would like to have an in-person or a virtual (Zoom or phone) meeting
  • You can also add notes or an attachment (such as a resume or cover letter)

You will receive confirmation email from the system once the counselor reviews your request and approves your appointment. The system also sends reminders for your appointment as the date approaches. If no confirmation arrives or if we can assist in any other way, please contact us at
