Earn Career & Professional Development Credit Remotely

Wondering how you can continue to earn credit toward the Career and Professional Development Graduation Requirement (CPDR) while we’re all staying at home?  For programs required during the 1L portion of the CPD requirement, you can watch qualified videos in the Videos section near the bottom of our website. The list of qualifying CPD events is attached in this post. You can use the CPD Make-Up Form to provide a brief summary of three things that you learned from viewing an event.  1L’s, keep in mind that up to 2 1L programs can be replaced by career advising appointments with our office this academic year. For upper level career advising appointments in the CDO (2 are required in the upper-level years), we are doing appointments by phone and Zoom! Please see the attached CPD Orientation Handout for a full description of the CPDR requirement.

Scheduling with the CDO

During this remote period, we encourage you to schedule CDO appointments through your Symplicity accounts (please provide your phone number when scheduling or note whether you would like a Zoom video appointment). If, however, you are having trouble scheduling through Symplicity or can’t find the availability you are seeking through the system, feel free to email us at careers@law.du.edu.

If you are emailing us about a time sensitive-need, please indicate that in the subject line of your email.  And, if you would like to have the career counselor review any documents as a part of your appointment, please attach those documents to your appointment request if scheduling through Symplicity or email the documents to the counselor or to careers@law.du.edu.
