This fall, Denver Law is launching an initiative to support first-year students who aspire to pursue careers in the public interest (broadly defined). Over the course of the 1L year, the selected participants in the 1L Public Good Program will commit to attending several lunchtime workshops and completing 20 hours of pro bono service throughout the academic year. The workshops will address professional identity, values, and other considerations for navigating a public-interest path at Denver Law and beyond. Participants will choose among several provided partnerships to fulfill the volunteer requirement. This is a non-credit, extra-curricular program. The short application can be found here and is due September 20. Students will be notified of their acceptance by approximately October 14. This initiative is being run by Prof. Alexi Freeman and Prof. John Bliss. If you have any questions before applying, please feel free to contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org and/or email@example.com.
