2Ls–Clerkship Application Deadlines are here!

Judicial clerkships are among the most prestigious ways to start a legal career–a clerkship provides an unparalleled opportunity to be mentored by a judge while building your research, writing and analytical skills.  In our experience, judicial clerks also report the highest levels of job satisfaction among entry-level lawyers.   In short, nothing gets a legal career off on the right foot quite like a clerkship!

The timing for applying to clerkships varies by level of court and even by individual judge so we recommend setting up a meeting with a member of the CDO’s clerkship team to get a sense of timelines, strategy, and required materials.  The Tenth Circuit and other highly competitive federal circuit courts are accepting applications now.  So, if you are considering applying to those positions, you should schedule your appointment ASAP. To request an appointment, just log in to your Symplicity account and click on the ‘Request a Counseling Appointment’ button in the upper right corner. Or, you can email our front desk at careers@law.du.edu.  Our Judicial Clerkship team is comprised of Andrea Montague, amontague@law.du.edu; Judy Stein, jstein@law.du.edu; Kristi Lush, klush@law.du.edu; Dean Eric Bono, ebono@law.du.edu; and Elise Logemann, elogemann@law.du.edu.

Contact the CDO for a spreadsheet showing the application deadlines for 10th Circuit and District Court judges.
