US Attorney’s Office in Denver is accepting Spring 2018 internship applications! (Aug. 18 deadline)

The U.S. Attorney’s Office represents the United States in legal cases arising from federal law created by Congress and is a prestigious government employer.  The US Attorney’s Office based in Denver is now seeking applications for Spring 2018 legal interns.

The 2-part application requires applying to the federal USAJOBS posting as well as the CDO Symplicity posting.

  1. USAJOBS application is required and due on 8/18 (see https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/473569400).
  2. Cheriene would also like Denver Law applications to come to her directly through the Symplicity posting.  I set the deadline to match the 8/18 USAJOBS posting.

Description

Law student positions are available year-round at the United States Attorney’s Office, Denver, Colorado, for both the Civil and Criminal Divisions. We accept work-study, internships, externships, fellowships, and volunteers. Presently, there are no paid positions.

The primary duty of the law student is research and writing. Assignments include, but are not limited to, responsive motions, dispositive pleadings, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs. The position allows the student to become familiar with the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, the local rules of practice for the United States District Court, and the local and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. In addition to research and writing, students may attend depositions, meetings with agents, and accompany the attorneys to observe court proceedings.

The District of Colorado is currently seeking outstanding candidates to serve as legal interns for spring 2018. The start and end dates are negotiable, and we ask that our interns commit to at least six weeks of service.
