Civil Rights Law Firm Fall Externship

The Denver civil rights firm of Killmer, Lane & Newman, LLP is accepting applications from second and third-year law students for fall 2017 internships. Killmer, Lane & Newman is a law firm committed to fighting for the underdog. We focus primarily in the areas of civil rights litigation, employment law, criminal defense, and pro bono work. We are committed to the promotion and protection of civil rights for all. We represent employees and former employees who have suffered illegal treatment at the hands of their employers. Interns at Killmer Lane & Newman typically have the opportunity to engage in a variety of substantive and interesting work, including research and writing regarding a wide range of topics, fact gathering, preparing attorneys for depositions, court hearings, mediations, and/or trial, attending depositions, court hearings, mediations, and/or trial, interviewing current and potential clients, interviewing witnesses, preparing witness statements, reviewing and summarizing discovery, and preparing drafts of lawsuits, legal briefs, and settlement statements. Interested applicants should submit a short cover letter and resume to Michael Fairhurst ( by no later than July 14, 2017. Applications submitted after that time may or may not be considered depending on the firm’s needs.
