Federal Clerkships – To Apply, OSCAR Goes Live July 1st for Rising 2Ls!

Rising 2L Applicant Prep Kit

To help rising 2Ls prepare for their initial access to OSCAR starting July 1, we have developed an Applicant prep kit, including a four-page quick reference guide, mobile-friendly tip sheets, and YouTube videos that walk applicants through the entire process.

We’ve worked with 2Ls who gained access to OSCAR last July to find out what would have been helpful when they first entered the system. Most of these students indicated that an overview of the basic interface and some of the main functions would have been a big help.

Applicants can use these resources on their phones as they step through the OSCAR system once they have access.

The Applicant Prep Kit is available here: https://oscar.uscourts.gov/applicant-prep-kit

CDO Note: Keep in mind that while OSCAR is an excellent tool for Federal Clerkships, not all federal judges require it (or even use it).  If you plan to apply for Federal Clerkships, we recommend meeting with Eric Bono, Judy Stein or Andrea Montague this summer to discuss the process and how to position yourself for success.

To request an appointment, just log in to your Symplicity account and click on the ‘Request a Counseling Appointment’ button in the upper right corner. Or, you can email our front desk at careers@law.du.edu.
