Description:

Small civil rights law firm seeks rising 2L, 3L, or recent grad with an avid interest in civil rights litigation for summer internship. Student must possess excellent research/writing skills, detail orientation, and demonstrable commitment to civil rights issues such as rectifying police misconduct and/or prisoner abuse. Preference will go to candidates who have taken a civil rights course, federal litigation course, and/or civil rights clinic. The student chosen should be able to work three days a week in the office and possibly some additional time from home. Student duties will include researching, drafting pleadings, and assisting during hearings and trial.

Firm will pay between $4,000-$5,000 (total, depending on experience) for the summer and may have additional opportunities for pay-per-job with other lawyers that share the office. Starting date will follow shortly after selection. Applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Position will remain open until filled.

Our docket is comprised of approximately 85-90% Section 1983 cases and 10-15% employment discrimination cases.
