POSITION: Research Intern
PROGRAM: Criminal Justice
HOURS/PAY: $15 p/hr. 12 16 hours per week. Many colleges and universities will give academic credit for internships. It is the student’s responsibility to contact his or her advisor and obtain academic credit within the institution’s guidelines.
DESCRIPTION: Research Intern provides research assistance for Criminal Justice Program. Includes fielding, researching, responding to information requests from legislative offices; tracking, summarizing state legislation; other special-project research and writing to objectively inform state legislative crime policies. Uses legislative databases, commercial legal databases and other on-line systems. Includes interaction with staff and members of state legislatures.
QUALIFICATIONS: Law or Graduate student preferred. Research, policy analysis, or legal support experience preferred. Knowledge of or experience with criminal justice system and/or criminal law or policy is desirable. Interest in legislatures, policy-making process desirable.
POSITION DURATION: Available for a regular, part-time schedule starting in spring 2017 and continuing through the 2017/2018 academic year.
