Join the Immigration, Refugee, Asylum Coalition for a lunch lecture by Hans Meyer, who will provide practice-ready information on the intersection of criminal and immigration law. He will explore what the 6th Amendment now requires at a minimum for Effective Assistance following Padilla v. Kentucky, and best practices going forward for representing noncitizen clients in criminal proceedings (from initial client meetings, to plea negotiations, and beyond!).

Hans Meyer, a DU law alum and the principal attorney of the Meyer Law Firm, PC, is an extremely knowledgeable, practicing immigration and criminal defense attorney here in the Denver Metro area. His practice is at the forefront of the overlap between the two fields, also known as crimmigration law. As a nationally recognized expert, Hans frequently lectures, publishes, and appears in the press on issues related to immigration law and the criminal justice system.
